The Oryzias Sp Pink is a beautiful species of Ricefish, offering the tank brilliant color and contrast. Its main body is a soft orange-pink and works well in planted aquariums that contain a wide variety of colorful aquatic plant species. Medaka are also popular in pond-style tanks and provide a unique bird’s eye view for the hobbyist. From the front of the aquarium, Ricefish are mid to top level swimmers. Like other species of Ricefish, Sp Pink Medaka are very hardy, beginner-friendly and are adaptable to a wide variety of aquarium parameters. These fish are also a good choice for brackish aquariums.
Ricefish are a peaceful species and should be housed in the aquarium with other peaceful fish and larger peaceful invertebrates. Oryzias Sp Pink Ricefish do best in schools of 6 or more and will display the best color and behavior when kept in appropriate numbers. This species does have the potential to jump, so it is recommended that coverage be available if a well-fitting lid is not being used. Like most species of aquarium fauna, the Oryzias Sp Pink Ricefish will appreciate live aquarium plants as well.
The Oryzias Sp Pink Ricefish is omnivorous and will eat a wide variety of fish food. High-quality flakes, pellets, live or frozen will be readily accepted by Ricefish.
