Homalomena Sekadau South
Homalomena Sekadau is a flowering plant belonging to the same family as Bucephalandra. It is considered a rare plant and you’re not likely going to see it at your local fish store. Like Buce, it’s an easy plant to care for and can be grown both submerged and emerged. Homalomena doesn’t require that much lighting to thrive. They are slow growers and too much light can cause algae growth on the leaves, much like Anubias and Buce. To plant, simply attach the rhizome to rock or wood and place it into your aquarium. Propagate by cutting along the rhizome.
Notes:
- Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
- Please be sure to remove this plant from its pot. Remove the cotton surrounding the roots and plant into a quality substrate. For instructions on how to properly prep “potted” aquarium plants, click here.
- CO2 injection will yield better growth.
- Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives.
